International Contributions: Myanmar (2017–2024)

 

In 2017, Dr. Pawal was invited to Yangon, Myanmar to establish a Center of Excellence in Cardiac Sciences at Pun Hlaing International Hospital. Over 8 years, he played a crucial role in:

 

✅ Setting up a state-of-the-art Cath Lab

✅ Establishing a Non-Invasive Cardiovascular Lab

✅ Supporting development of Cardiothoracic Surgery and Pediatric Cardiology departments

✅ Training 5 junior cardiology residents, now independently practicing

✅ Performing 1,000+ procedures, including:

•Coronary Angiography & Angioplasty

•Permanent Pacemaker Implantation

•ASD & PDA Device Closures

 

He provided life-saving care to thousands, including international expatriates, especially during the COVID-19 and post-COVID era.

•Leading both Interventional and Non-Invasive Cardiology services

•Continuing to visit Myanmar periodically for follow-up care and training
